:: Kites :: --- May '10 release

‘Kites’ (which means destiny decides how our lives will turn out) is a sweet love story which cost RM99 million. It’s about Jay (Hrithik Roshan), plays in Las Vegas who earns his keep as a dance instructor — and as a “husband” for those seeking a green card to stay permanently in the US.

He plays the love game with Gina (played by Kangana Ranaut), the daughter of a rich casino owner. But just as he’s about to be accepted by her family, he falls for Natasha (Barbara Mori), fiancee of Gina’s brother Tony (Nicholas Brown) who is playing the same game as him.

Jay and Natasha’s get-rich-quick plan seems to be succeeding until they fall for each other with dreams of riches. It’s a tussle between love and money. But by choosing love, Jay and Natasha not just kick the riches they could get, but also win the animosity of Gina’s dad and brother Tony, who’s hell-bent on killing Jay and getting Natasha back.

With some stupefying dances and stunts and the movie was shot entirely in the United States and Maldives, it will make one sit and watch.
